I needed a logo to brand myself and an epic intro for all of my YouTube videos. I wanted the logo to represent my nickname Captain Morgan. So a pirate theme was a must but with a modern twist. What is more iconic than the Jolly Roger skull and crossbones flag? But I also wanted to make the logo look more modern. So I decided I wanted a digital skull design with AK47 assault rifles instead of the bones. I drew out many sketches and then took those into Adobe Illustrator. The rifles just didn’t look right even though the concept was there and made sense. I decided to use bullets instead for a more sleek design that would look more current.

I then took the design into Photoshop to set it up to import into After Effects using a png file. I spent hours animating it even though I found a template that made the process way faster. I then added sound effects to make it feel like my favorite ride at Disneyland and fine tuned everything after many hours of rendering. After the logo was completed I moved on to some footage of myself doing things that would describe myself and my interests. So naturally I setup some clips of lifting weights, getting tattooed, my custom BMW and shooting some of my guns at the range. Of course I needed to add a bunch of fire to everything, sound effects, the custom logo and the footage to make an epic intro. Everyone knows I am way over the top on everything I do so naturally the this project doesn’t disappoint. My goal was to use this intro on all of my videos to grab everyone’s attention. I did pay a ton to go to art school for animation and this video clip lets me show off my creative talent. I am so busy with sales at work it was nice to use my artistic skill and challenge myself. I hope you like it and hopefully my “CAPT MORG” skull logo doesn’t get burned into your brain permanently. I hope you enjoy and thanks for the feedback!
